The Mission of
The Army Distaff Foundation
The purpose of The Army Distaff Foundation is to provide elderly persons, according to need on a nonprofit and charitable basis, with housing facilities and services specially designed to meet the physical, social and psychological needs of the aged, and contribute to their health, security, happiness and usefulness in longer living. Our moral principles dictate that we treat one another with honesty, dignity, and respect. We uphold the high ethical standards of our military services, reflected in the culture of the Knollwood community.
The Army Distaff Foundation owns and funds Knollwood, a premier residential and healthcare military retirement community for retired military officers and their families. Founded for a benevolent purpose, The Foundation provides financial assistance to those in need, ensuring that no eligible person is denied residency.
The accomplishment and sustainability of this mission on behalf of these service members, who have given so much to their country, depends substantially on the support of a concerned and generous donor community.
The Army Distaff Foundation will continue to be a premier American organization caring for the members of Our National Defense Community through civic promotion, cultural endeavor, philanthropy, heritage and the spirit of combined effort.
